Overview
Remadely set out to be a “Netflix for good habits” — a lifestyle app bundling behavioral curriculums across categories like alcohol, environment, and sleep, grounded in the idea that habits form in roughly 30 days.
Problem
People trying to change a habit — like a 30-day no-alcohol challenge — had no single, science-backed product to support them through the emotional ups and downs of the process.
What I did
- Mapped the user journey by studying real 30-day no-alcohol challenge videos, then ran video interviews with prescreened participants to find what made people succeed or fail
- Affinity-mapped interview insights in Mural into three distinct user personas, each representing a different approach to the challenge
- Identified core features from research: daily pledge reminders, craving trigger/context tracking, social-gathering activity tracking, and a drink counter — filling gaps competitor apps didn't cover
- Designed mid-fidelity flows for a calendar to track social events, a friends-and-family support system (including a “watch” mode for non-participants), and social-gathering check-ins
- Resolved ADA color-accessibility issues in the initial palette by exploring alternate shades and greys for text readability
- Built full hi-fi screens and a design system covering onboarding, pledges, calendar sync, drink tracking, and social accountability features
- Reviewed the work with peer designers on the sleep and environment modules for a cohesive app experience, then refined color balance, made calendar sync and networking optional, and simplified the post-challenge home screen
Outcome
A complete design system and hi-fi product spanning onboarding through post-challenge tracking, shaped directly by real user interviews and shared across Remadely's other habit modules.
